Keehi Lagoon Canoe Halau

This project consisted of constructing an open-air canoe halau that included moss rock walls and an open gate enclosure that incorporates an intricate and artful canoe paddle motif.  The unique Pohaku, a collection of Hawaiian stone bench sculpture pieces were designed and created by a local artist.
The project’s close proximity to the ocean required strict controls over debris and public safety.  The Company abided by the City & County of Honolulu’s policy to preserve and protect the natural resources of the coastal zone of Hawaii.
The project was completed on time and within budget, and was the recipient of an Award of Excellence at the General Contractors Association of Hawaii’s 2005 Build Hawaii Awards.
